HGM Associates is seeking a Senior Roadway Design Engineer / Transportation Project Manager to lead and manage highway and transportation infrastructure design projects for DOT and local agency clients in Nebraska and Iowa.

In this position, you will serve as a project manager responsible for roadway design, client coordination, and overall project delivery, including scope, schedule, and budget management. You will also play a key role in mentoring staff, supporting business development efforts, and contributing to the continued growth of the firm.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the project manager for highway design and transportation infrastructure projects, managing roadway design tasks and coordinating project delivery
- Lead project planning efforts, including development of scope, schedule, and budget
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and team development for junior engineers and project staff
- Provide technical review and oversight of roadway and highway designs prepared by project teams
- Coordinate with DOT, city, and county clients throughout project development
- Ensure roadway and highway designs meet AASHTO and applicable DOT standards
- Support and participate in business development efforts, including client relationship management, proposal development, and identification of new opportunities
- Contribute to the growth and development of HGM’s roadway design services

- State DOT roadway and highway design projects
- City and county roadway improvement and rehabilitation projects
- Urban and rural roadway design and transportation infrastructure projects
Qualifications:
Required:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 10+ years of roadway design experience
- Experience with roadway and highway design engineering projects
- Strong understanding of AASHTO roadway design requirements
Preferred:
- Experience managing roadway and highway design projects
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior engineers
- Experience or interest in business development and client growth
