Position Overview:
HGM Associates is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our 2027 summer internship program. This opportunity is designed for students who have completed at least two years toward a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering and want to gain real-life experience in the engineering world.
As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will work with Civil Engineers under the supervision of a Professional Engineer while gaining exposure to design, construction engineering, bridge-related assignments, hydraulic modeling, plan review, and other active project work.
This internship includes work assignments both inside and outside the office, providing exposure to practical engineering workflows, field activities, and project delivery in a collaborative consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Support civil engineering project teams on active contracts
- Assist with engineering design, plan review, and construction engineering tasks
- Support bridge safety inspection, bridge load rating, and hydraulic modeling assignments as needed
- Participate in both office-based and field-related project work
- Support project documentation, calculations, technical reviews, and related engineering tasks
Qualifications:
- Completion of at least two years toward a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering
- Undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior standing
- Enrollment in a College of Engineering program focused on Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering
- Interest in gaining practical engineering experience through both office and field assignments
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a team environment
