Project Architect

Project Architects that are seeking a long-term opportunity will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of projects from beginning to end. You will be responsible for managing team members involved in the project, coordinate all construction documents including drawings and specifications, work directly with Clients and Contractors, develop project schedules and budgets, and perform Construction Administration duties during construction of projects.

Responsibilities

As a senior team member, Project Architect’s responsibilities, in conjunction with a Project Manager, include:

• Assist in leading team members and coordinate the work of the team through multiple phases of a project.
• Required to develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and estimates.
• Required to take part in meetings with Clients and incorporate their needs throughout multiple phases of a project
• Required to work with clients to define project requirements and develop design criteria.
• Required to work with multi disciplines and coordinate all drawings/specifications.
• Provide quality assurance and technical reviews throughout multiple phase of projects.
• Required to work with and manage project team members producing construction documents.
• Develop construction documents and provide technical details, red line corrections and direction on construction documents for architectural techs.
• Required to review drawings for code compliance.
• Meet with various governing agencies to review code compliance on projects.
• Required to coordinate full sets of contract documents including drawings and writing architectural specifications for bidding.
• Required to attend and conduct construction meetings with Clients and Contractors.
• Required to provide Construction Administration services such as review submittals/shop drawings, review change order requests, and answer contractor questions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture degree required
• Registered Architect Preferred but not required
• Minimum 5 years' experience working as a Project Architect or Project Manager
• Strong technical project detailing and documentation skills required.
• Experience in working directly with clients
• Experience in preparation of architectural contract documents and specifications.
• Experience in establishing and managing project fees, budgets and schedules.
• Proficiency in IBC, NFPA, and ADA code requirements required.
• Candidates must have excellent written, communication, and presentation skills
• Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask and work on several projects at one time.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Sketchup, and Revit.

Transportation Engineer

HGM Associates is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our rapidly growing Transportation Practice in our Omaha, Nebraska office. Our ideal candidate will be someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who can work both independently and in a team environment.

Preferred: 2+ years’ experience working in the engineering industry on City, County or Department of Transportation projects. Having experience using MicroStation and OpenRoads will be considered a plus. Successful candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in civil/transportation engineering and Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification.

The Transportation Engineer will:
• Develop Roadway Design plans and contract documents
• Provide on-site inspection services for transportation improvement projects
• Perform Roadway Design tasks including:

o Culvert and storm sewer designs
o Horizontal and vertical alignments
o Typical section development
o Geometrics and grades
o Development of roadway cross sections and/or corridor model

• Ensure completeness of the design related forms and reports
• Develop and review cost estimates and calculation of construction quantities.
• Oversee layout and/or review plans.
• Demonstrate advanced use of CADD and assure compliance with project CADD standards

Utility Engineer

HGM Associates has an immediate opportunity for a Project Manager/Senior Project Engineer that is seeking a long-term opportunity in the field of utility design. This position offers the successful candidate technical training as well as mentoring, a stable workload, no "selling" and the support of highly competent team of professionals.

The position will ultimately be responsible for all aspects of project delivery including developing budget and schedules, managing the design effort, production of precise construction drawings and communicating directly with Clients on key issues.

Responsibilities

As a senior team member, the responsibilities, in conjunction with the Project Principal, include:

· Work with key Clients to define project requirements, develop design criteria and communicate priorities to the Project Team
· Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets and estimates
· Work with and manage experienced Project Team producing construction documents
· Develop construction documents, provide technical details, redline corrections and provide direction throughout plan development
· Coordinate design efforts with public and private stakeholders
· Provide concurrent quality assurance and technical reviews on multiple projects at varying stages of design
· Review drawings for code compliance and secure permits as needed
· Provide Construction Administration services such as reviewing submittals/shop drawings, reviewing change order requests, and answering questions from the field

Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
· Professional Engineer registration (NE and IA preferred)
· Minimum 8 years design experience
· Strong business acumen in project planning and management
· Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
